This is your chance to own a true piece of aviation history. The legendary Mort Brown, a Cessna test pilot, stated that the 195 was his favorite airplane he ever flew. This aircraft is truly a pleasure to fly and a blast from the past. When you pull up on the ramp everyone comes outside to check-out N195FY!!!

The Jacobs L4 /R755-7 is the 245hp version. It runs smooth and has plenty of power for this aircraft. It has less than 200 hrs since major overhaul!!! The Hamilton Standard prop is in great shape as well and pulls the aircraft with shiny style.

The airplane’s panel has been upgraded. It has a more modern layout with the radio stack. It looks great and is quite functional. It is fully IFR capable with a HSI. It does not have a GPS. I just use a hand held.

The aircraft does have Cleveland wheels and brakes attached to the light gear. FY just recently had the Jasco alternator conversion done. At the same time the aircraft got an Airwolf oil filter system. It also got a new g-35 battery in January of 2011.

The floor pans of the aircraft look great and there is no sign of corrosion. The airplane does have some damage history as all 195s have. In 1959 the left wing and stabilizer was replaced due to a ground loop. The parts were replaced with a factory new wing and a used stabilizer. The airplane does not have a heater. Physically the airframe looks great. It does have a few dents and bangs but for a 60 year old taildragger it looks great. It does have the typical 195 forward elevator damage from rocks in the past. The elevator tips are aligned with the main tires which means it catches debris.

1961 CESSNA 172 C MODEL SKYHAWK - SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SKYHAWK

Complete logs since new this solid and clean California plane - its condition reflects the dry dessert climate.   I have flown this airplane for the past ten years.   Very low time engine with currently 699 hours.  The aircraft is located in Carlsbad California and available for inspection on request with a minimum of 72 hours notice.    The aircraft has been well maintained.   A great time builder, family aircraft, or cross country plane is in great condition for its age and even better equipped with dual nav  coms, audio panel with outer markers, a mode C tranponder, a electronic Carb Ice warning system and a IFR GPS coupled to the indicator (card update needed by the buyer to maintain currency).   It even has stereo audio.    It has the optional 40 degree flaps.   This is one of the best equipped swept tail Skyhawks ever, built to fly long and safe. This aircraft has an all metal military style control panel as it was
once owned by the Civil Air Patrol, where it had a spare no expense
maintenance history. The paint is fair, the interior fair, the overall aircraft rock solid.   Please note that this aircraft has been consistently flown in a dry climate, been well maintained and has cosmetic wear associated with its age which does not effect flight.   This Cessna has been maintained by Aeromechanix who can confirm the condition, email me for contact information.

KING SILVER CROWN AVIONICS PANEL UNITS HAVE BEEN REMOVED, AND ARE NOT INCLUDED, BUT THE TRAYS, WIRING, AND ANTENNAS ARE STILL INSTALLED, IF YOU WANT TO GO BACK THE EASY WAY.
